MCKINNEY, Texas — On Thursday morning, a tiny aircraft went down after taking off at McKinney National Airport, according to authorities.
The crash happened in the vicinity of County Road 317, which is immediately south of the airport, at around 10:30 in the morning.
The investigation will be conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, according to McKinney police, who also confirmed the plane accident. The aircraft seemed to fall into a pile of rubble and dirt at a facility just south of the airport, according to video captured at the scene. Numerous first responders and fire trucks were present at the location.
Following the collision, construction workers could be seen racing to put out the fire on camera captured by one of the witnesses.
The number of passengers on board and the existence of any confirmed injuries were yet unknown.
